Adonnis was put forward for grading with the Anglo European Studbook in November 2008 and was licensed. He has excellent conformation, a fantastic hind leg and lovely balanced paces.  Although his career will be in the dressage arena, he also has a good jumping style and ability. Adonnis has a wonderful temperament and calm outlook on life, and should prove an asset to any breeding programme.

Adonnis has been lightly competed since summer 2009. He competed in two Shearwater Potential International Dressage horse classes shortly after being backed and was placed in the top ten in both. He qualified for the Petplan Area Festival Championships at Prelim level, and has qualified for BD Summer Regionals at both Prelim and Novice levels.
Adonnis has a very trainable temperament and is ridden and competed by his amateur owner. He keeps a level head in unfamiliar situations and loves his work.

2009 was Adonnis’ first year at stud, and the first of his offspring arrived in May 2010, and you can see pictures on the Progeny page.

Gribaldi (Keur) –Trakehner stallion of the Year 2008 and granted Elite status, his sire, Kostolany, is Trakehner stallion of the year 2009.  Gribaldi is an International Grand Prix Dressage stallion, ridden by Edward Gal. He is sire of Gal’s world record breaking Moorlands Totilas and Painted Black, ridden by Anky van Grunsven, amongst many other Grand Prix horses and approved stallions. Kostolany, also competed to Grand Prix level, was champion of his stallion selection at Neumunster in 1987 and has sired 9 approved Trakehner stallions.

Turona (Ster) – by Mondriaan (ex Mansell), a Prix St Georges Dressage stallion by Balzflug, out of a Keur Pref Prest. mare, Unette.  Mondriaan sired mainly dressage horses, most notable of which is Superman (Mondriaan x Cabochon) who is competing at Grand Prix in the USA. Balzflug was Reserve Champion of his performance test, and won a Gold medal at the Belgian National Championships. Balzflug was considered one of the most promising dressage stallions of his time, but tragically died at a young age. Balzflug is from the best German lineages, his sire Habicht was the 1970 General Trakehner Champion in Neumunster and is considered to be one of the most influential progenitors of the breed. He is the sire of national top mares and several approved stallions in the Netherlands and Germany.

Merona – by Palfrenier, International Show Jumping Stallion ridden by Hap Hansen.  By Joost, Palfrenier was full brother to Zaniki, dam of renowned jumping stallion and sire, Ekstein.

Erona – Out of Keur Pref Prest mare Urona and by Vanitas. A Grand prix dressage stallion, Vanitas was ridden by Dutch Olympic medallist Annemarie Sanders-Keizer. Vanitas won his performance test in Ermelo 1982. His dam, Gonnie, also produced KWPN stallion Cabochon
